Commitment

Commitment is not an easy thing. More often than not we give up on things we find difficult, or we walk away from situations that cause us anxiety or fear, avoiding what could make us grow if only we stuck it out and dealt with the uncomfortable. Yet so many people do commit, and they do so without really knowing it, they take it for granted this is just what they’re supposed to do, thinking nothing of all the commitments they’ve made in their lives, like maintaining a job to pay the bills even though you hate your boss, being there for your friends and family whenever they might need you, raising a family, the list goes on. We should take the time to understand how strong we can be, that when we think we can’t commit to something, think of all the things you already are committed to, and its not because you have to, even though you feel like you might not have a choice (you do), it’s because deep down you know how to commit, you know how to be a good person, you have that discipline inside of you, and taking the time to fully appreciate that should make you realise that you can apply that to anything in life, don’t put it off, commit, see where it goes and grow.

“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.” — Helen Keller
